Title (Max 100 Charaters)
The Wesco 4A district basketball tournaments have been set and the action kicks off on Tuesday night.
That’s when the girls basketball tournament begins. The higher seeds host the first round games on the 8-team, double-elimination tournament, with the semifinals taking place Friday at Arlington High School and the final at AHS on the 17th. The top two teams head to state, while the third place team will play against a KingCo team for a state tourney bid.
Tuesday’s games all begin at 7 p.m. The games are:
- Mariner at Lake Stevens
- Snohomish at Edmonds-Woodway
- Kamiak at Stanwood
- Arlington at Jackson
Those who lose on Tuesday will play on Thursday to stay alive. The consolation semis will be on the 14th and the 3rd place final will be on the 17th, the same night as the district final.
The boys tournament starts on Wednesday. It’s the same as the girls, as the higher seeds host the first round games in the 8-team, double-elimination tourney. The semifinals and finals will be at Jackson High School. The top two teams in the boys tourney will also head to state, and the third place team will play a KingCo team after the district tournament for a spot in the state tournament.
Here is Wednesday’s schedule, with all games starting at 7 p.m.:
- Cascade at Snohomish
- Lake Stevens at Edmonds-Woodway
- Kamiak at Stanwood
- Monroe at Jackson
The semifinals for both tournaments will be on Saturday at Jackson, while the finals will be a week later on the 18th. Loser-out games will take place on Saturday and on the 15th, with the consolation finals happening the same day as the district finals at Jackson.
The postseason is underway, with dreams of state titles dancing in the heads of everyone involved.
